The risk of sudden death syndrome or SIDS children is significantly lower in children who received the pacifier while they sleep, according to a new study by Kaiser Permanente and the National Institutes of Health. The results were published in the British Medical Journal. SIDS is the leading cause of death among children aged one month to one year, the burden from 2300 to 2500 lives per year in the United States.
