From the guidelines: “A very special highlight for multicultural education, the greatest care for knowledge, recognition and appreciation of diversity, which can be found in school and in society as a whole requires.”

The squares and streets of our cities in an increasingly reflect the diversity of cultures, which directly characterize today increasingly pluralistic society.
Intercultural Education is the horizon within which it is unthinkable that an educational project to tie together the logic of constructive co-existence can confront the cultural diversity and experiential learning and interacting, that in urban areas.

The educational role of schools in this type of society, is to mediate between different cultures, which are the students who do bear the mediation is not reductive different cultural inputs, but from which a continuous, productive comparisons between different models.
Intercultural education, therefore, there is the promotion of the ability to live together constructively in a cultural and social forms. It is not only the acceptance and respect for diversity, but also the recognition of their cultural identity and the right of everyone, in what is, on the basis of their needs through their own projects in order to develop effective social and working life.

Intercultural education is a task for some teachers, it is the autonomy for the entire educational community in the curricula of schools, through the fields of experience, expertise and disciplines, provides the information to the younger generations to build a new citizenship, as adjusted to the demands of a pluralistic society.

The educational projects aimed at preventing the development of ethnocentric attitudes, intolerant of other cultures have to create goal.

It is necessary to provide a learning environment sensitive and open to the recognition, understanding and appreciation of many cultures in the community.
